
The Mars Orbiter, now known as the Mars 2020 Rover, will be competing between school students to name the planet Mars. The competition will be held in the year 2019. From the Kindergarten School children up to 12th level students can participate in the competition.
Students need to write a short article explaining the reasons for their name. NASA is not going to conduct this tournament directly. Institutions associated with scientific and space exploration and non-profit education institutions are being conducted.
NASA scientists have suggested that names have been chosen by such competitions since Rover began to land on Mars in 1997. Thousands of students are enthusiastically involved in the competition.

Vallery Ambroise, the so-called Sojourner, was the first 12-year-old student on Mars. Sojourner Truth is the name of the social reformer who suffered slavery in the 19th century. The third class student in Arizona was named after the twin rowers named after Sophie Gallis. Spirit and Opportunity are the ones. These were sent to Mars in 2004. The sixth grade student of Kansas was named "Curiosity" to Rover who was sent to 2012.

This robot vehicle will be sent to Mars in July or August 2020.
The European Union also sends a rover to conduct research on life on Mars. The name of the robot has been announced.
