6.2 magnitude earthquake in New Zealand - Parliament building shook

A severe earthquake occurred in New Zealand today. The earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale was located at a depth of 165 km at a distance of 25 km southwest from Damaruni.


The whole earthquake was felt throughout the capital Wellington. It was about 30 seconds vibration. People panicked because the buildings were shaking. Similarly, the Northern Island and the South Island were seismically in various parts of the country.

No information was reported from the earthquake or death. No tsunami warning has been issued.





The parliament building in Wellington was also shaken. As a result, they stopped temporarily. They started again after the news was reported that the earthquake was not damaged or large losses
