Washington: A fast-growing language in the United States has been revealed in a US study. According to the study, the number of Telugu speaking Americans has risen by 86 per cent between 2010 and 2017. The growth of Telugu speaking people is expected to be attributed to the connection between the city of Hyderabad and the US engineering and technology companies in Andhra Pradesh.
It is noteworthy that Telugu is the 4th most popular language in India. Of the 10 fastest growing languages in the US, 7 languages belong to South Asia. In the study from 2010 to 2017, Spanish, Chinese, Arabic and Hindi speakers have increased. More than 80 percent of the surveyed Telugu speaking people said they knew English well
