5 tips to go back to regular life after battling cancer

Cancer is a serious disease and the magnitude of the same unfortunately seems to be rising at an alarming rate. It sees no religion, caste or class before deciding on a victim. Recently, many celebrities have also come out and told their stories of battle with cancer and their courage has to be applauded. Whether it is Rakesh Roshan or Sonali Bendre who has handled the challenge in the best spirit or Ayushman Khurana's wife Tahira, each one of them has been a ray of hope and courage for people battling the disease that they too can win against it, and go back to regular life.


Exercise
Maybe you did not realise the importance of it but now after battling the disease, you definitely do. Your body may also be weak now, after having gone through so much. A few breathing exercises or just regular stretching and jogging may be good, to begin with, and you should try to make exercise an indispensable part of your routine.


Meditation
Cancer not only plagues the body physically but can also become a cause of mental illnesses like depression and anxiety because of the magnitude of the disease and the feeling of the struggle that one has to go through. Meditation can really help you fight those feelings of depression and anxiety and help you become stronger to be able to handle this huge change in your life. Meditation also helps in keeping the mind and body healthy generally.

Vent it out – Talk, Write, Show
You won't even realise but your story of struggle may actually be very helpful and empowering for the people around you who are in the same place as you were. The best way to channel the pain is to make art out of it. Getting it out of you by writing, talking, or showing it to people through pictures, sketches, etc. can really be good for you as it will help you face your struggle better.

Take up travel
Travelling can be a life-changing experience- the only thing it has in common with cancer. You may feel like life has given you a second chance and you can make the most of it by letting yourself experience everything – from wonderful landscapes to new people and new adventures. Travel will also help you stay positive and looking forward to something great.


Take care of yourself
One important lesson that cancer can teach you is to love yourself. You might have seen your body change in a lot of ways from diagnosis to treatment and must have learnt to love it irrespective of what conditions it might be in. Everyone around you can be supportive but at the end of the day, it was your battle and you fought it alone. One major thing that you should do to go back to your normal life is to love yourself and take care of your body more than usual because it really needs you

It may not be as easy as said but the feeling of winning against the deadly disease is inexplicable and every patient of cancer just wants to go back to their normal life and live the most of it.
