Spotify, the world’s biggest online music streaming service, might soon be launching in India and since Spotify inked a deal with world’s second-biggest YouTube channel T-Series, the rumour mill around the music streaming service finally coming to India have already caught some pace. For the unknown, a recent report confirmed that Spotify has partnered with the Indian label T-Series in order to make all the 160,000 songs on the channel available on its platform.
In a recent development, Spotify has accidentally revealed that it will be launching its online music streaming service in India on January 31 after the updated version of its end-user terms and conditions was spotted for India. It was first spotted reported by Variety while its report also added that Spotify’s deal with T-Series was the stepping stone of this development. On the other hand, Spotify is yet to finalize music deals with other major music labels in India such as Sony, Universal, and Warner.

The report further added that Spotify will make its service available in English while after the initial launch, its music will be available in five languages namely Punjabi, Malayalam, Bengali, Tamil and Telugu with more regional languages being added to the platform in the coming days.
In another report, it has been claimed that Spotify will opt for the same approach as it did in South Africa and Vietnam by launching its services with an extended free trial period of more than 30 days. Once launched, Spotify will be competing against the likes of Amazon Prime Music, Gaana, Apple Music, JioSaavn, Hungama and Wynk. Coming to its pricing, Spotify subscription plans in India are yet to be announced.
