Goa chief minister Manohar Parrikar died on Sunday evening, March 17, 2019, after a year-long battle with cancer. The former defence minister, who was detected with a serious pancreatic ailment, had been in and out of hospitals in Goa, Mumbai, Delhi, and New York since February 2018. He was 63. It was reported that he was suffering from a serious pancreatic ailment which could possibly be advanced pancreatic cancer.

Earlier, news agency ANI reported that the CM was extremely critical and the doctors are trying their best. Advanced pancreatic cancer has one of the lowest survival rates across the world.
