WhatsApp advanced search feature expected to roll out for iOS beta users soon

WhatsApp is working on a lot of new  features for its over 1.3 billion users all over the world and while the list of upcoming WhatsApp features includes the likes of Dark Mode, Group Invitation, Show in Chat and more, a recent report has highlighted that an advanced search feature is also in the works which would make searching anything in the plethora of WhatsApp chats much easier.

According to a report by WABetaInfo, the WhatsApp Advanced Search feature will let users search multiple types of message in their WhatsApp app and they will also be able to search with filters such as photos, GIFs, videos, links and even audio files. Moreover, Users will also get a preview of the search results which means you won’t need to open all the options shown in WhatsApp results. However, preview for voice messages will not be available for now.

It should be noted that WhatsApp already has a search option, however, it is limited to text messages only and while WhatsApp Advanced Search feature will also reflect your recent searches as well, the Search History which can be cleared by tapping on the Clear option. Once you tap a media file option, such as Photos, your WhatsApp search will show all messages which contain an image in all chats. As mentioned above users will also get a preview of the search results which means you won’t need to open all the options shown in WhatsApp results.


The report further adds that the WhatsApp Advanced Search feature will be made available to WhatsApp beta users for iOS and in order to use this features, you will need to register yourself by download the TestFlight app from Apple’s App Store and requesting a slot. The WhatsApp Advanced Search feature is reportedly in the development phase for now
