Hate speech and controversial content are posted and shared on social networks such as Facebook

The European Union Supreme Court has ruled that EU law does not impose sanctions on Facebook to remove hate speech and harmful content on Facebook, or to ban it worldwide. Hate speech and controversial content are posted and shared on social networks such as Facebook. Such information cannot be easily removed from social websites.

A similar case took place yesterday in the European Union Supreme Court. The Supreme Court ruled at the time that the European Union law did not prohibit courts from ordering courts to remove hate speech or harmful controversial content from social media. It is considered a setback for Facebook
