Servers echo maintenance work: risk of disabling internet service around the world

Russia: Russia has been advised to take necessary precautionary measures because of the possibility of cyber-access to the next 48 hours worldwide. Due to the maintenance work of major servers including DNS, Internet users have reported that it may encounter problems related to connection over the next 48 hours. The International Internet Service System, known as The Internet Corporation of Names and Numbers, is carrying out routine maintenance work. Russia has warned that many Internet servers may lose contact over the next 48 hours. In the recent years, Internet users have been engaged in crippling websites.

During the maintenance, ICANN will be involved in the improvement of security features in order to prevent Internet freezing. It may take up to 48 hours. At this time the Internet service is crippled and the possibility that it will be unable to see specific web pages. So Russia has called for a necessary precaution. There are also reports that ISP, which is an Internet service provider, can avoid such hazards if they have made the necessary preparations
