20 people killed in Tajikistan jail

There is a prison in the town of Kujand in Tajikistan. There is a sudden dispute between prisoners in this prison. The dispute was later turned into a riot. In this riot the prisoners attacked each other.


The security forces were then brought there. They tried to reconcile the detainees. But prisoners are not abandoning strife.





Following this, security forces fired on them. 20 prisoners were shot dead. More than 2 security personnel have been reported as victims.


Officials said there was a strong security cover to prevent further riots in the jail
