man leaves his own wedding to play football match

An enthusiastic footballer from Kerala has taken sports obsession to a new high by excusing himself from his own wedding to play a football match in the Malappuram 7s league.

According to reports, Ridvan asked his would-be wife for a five-minute break to join his teammates in a match that clashed with his wedding date.

Ridvan plays as a defender for his team FIFA Menjeri and his antic has even impressed the Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore.

“Ridvan asked 5 minutes from his bride on his wedding day to play football! What passion! I want to meet him!” wrote the Youth Affairs & Sports on Twitter.Ridvan was in a dilemma as he had to decide between his own wedding and a crucial moment in a 7-a-side game in Malappuram.
After excusing himself from the wedding, he joined his teammates and also won the game. The bride, however, was left fuming, reported Talksports 24x7.
"So if the game was at noon, would you cancel the marriage for the game?" the bride told sports website Talksports24x7.
The Sevens Football Season kicked off in November with more than 25 teams from across the state.

Unlike traditional football tournaments, the Sevens Football season has just 7 players on each team and the rules are slightly different from a 90-minute game.
The tournament is very popular in the small provinces of Kerala, especially the Malabar region that includes Malappuram and Kozhikode
