decide you post workout snack before you hit the gym for a healthy meal

A post-workout snack is absolutely essential and the rigorous workout can really leave you very hungry. The urge to eat can lead you to not only over-eat but also binge on something unhealthy, which could sabotage your weight loss efforts.

According to a recent study and as reported by ANI, if you decide your post-workout snack in advance, say, a night before if you work out in the morning, or during lunch hours if you workout in the evening, it will increase your chances of eating healthy.

The study was published in the journal Nutrients, and led by Koehler, lead researcher of the study. Koehler explained the study and said, “We found that there was very little research on this very tangible thing that I think everyone can relate to. If your goal is to lose weight, then I would say our findings support that you're better off making the choice ... not  when you're hungry after your workout, but instead before you go to the gym."

The study does make more sense practically. Once you have worked out, you may not want to make yourself a snack, let alone decide on it. If you decide and prepare at least part of the post-workout snack before you hit the gym, you can conveniently come back and eat it. Not only would it make your work easier, but also be more beneficial for your weight loss and health goals.
