If one kidney stone can bring one to knees, the effect of 550 stones is beyond imagination. In a rarest of the rare kind, doctors have removed 550 stones from kidneys of a 75-year-old person from Dombivli in Maharashtra.
When the patient experienced stomach pain for the last few days, even in wildest of imaginations, would he have thought of kidney stone, leave along this large number? The senior citizen went to a private hospital after continued stomach pain. The doctors at the hospital were confused after detail examination which revealed 550 stones in his right kidney. All the stones were removed from the kidney after emergency surgery for around one and a half hours.
The consultant Urologist at SRV Mamata Hospital, Dombivli, Dr Loksesh Sinha, operated upon the patient and removed the kidney stones with minimally invasive surgery. Infection can lead to fever with a cold.
